Buda Castle – Fisherman’s Bastion
Located in the heart of the Buda Castle District, Fisherman’s Bastion is known for its fairy-tale towers and white stone arcades offering one of the best panoramic views in the city. From here, visitors can admire the Parliament, the Danube, and Pest’s historic center. Next to it stands Matthias Church (officially the Church of the Assumption), a stunning Gothic building with colorful Zsolnay ceramic roof tiles and richly decorated exterior details. While entrance to the church requires a ticket, its facade is impressive even from the outside. The lower terraces of the Fisherman’s Bastion are freely accessible all year round and are perfect for taking photos or enjoying the scenery.
