St Stephen's Basilica

One of the tallest buildings in the city, St Stephen’s Basilica is an impressive neoclassical building named after the first king of Hungary. Its external façade, dome and two towers are remarkable in themselves. The square in front of the basilica is a popular meeting place, particularly atmospheric on summer evenings. Tickets are required to get up to the dome and visit the church. The building is also impressive from the outside, especially at sunset or in the evening light.
